Construction on Inchlass Palace was
started by Prince Breannain, third
son of King Kenrick, and his wife
Lady Lucile Farrell.
Situated on a hill overlooking the
island’s capital, it is protected by
cliffs on two sides and a canyon at
the back. Further protection is
provided by towering walls enclosing
twin drainage ditches and a broad
strip of bramble-filled land.
Two hundred years after
construction began, the palace is
now home to Prince Akran al-Rishad,
his sons, Katan and Akran, and his
wife, Lady Jullen. It is a key location
in the first two books in the ‘Amast’
trilogy.
